This 50 ft sailing catamaran has been designed to specifically take advantage from the nc router cut composite panel build method we have helped pioneer. To date we have numerous successful builds worldwide in this labour saving construction method. Our designs in this medium account for a vessels entire composite surface structures, both hull and deck shells and total of internals. The eML 50 is unashamed in the use of this method giving aesthetics that clearly define and enhance the vessels lines. Essentially this commission called for a maximum length vessel with fine hulls, long over hangs and a reduced wing deck length. This concept allows the safety and fast passage making offshore of a larger vessel, also the sail plan is proportional to the refined low resistance hulls, therefore offering ease of use and safety for the short handed crew situation envisaged for this design. All structures are specified in robust epoxy balsa and core cell foam cores and e-glass stitched fabrics epoxy laminates. These structures more than account for the most extreme loads possible and exceed most code requirements for the vessels intended use. Accommodations are generous within the bounds of the wing deck length and as such this is a 2 plus 2 type cruising yacht with most passages undertaken with 2 crew. A large amount of storage space is available for all the long-term cruising necessities such as bicycles spare inflatable and so forth. The deck arrangement has most sheets and halyards returning to the cockpit adjacent to the port & starboard helms and to a central winch pod in way of the aft beam with sheets run below the wing deck.
